As a minimalist artist my interest is to capture the essence of the moment by abstracting from the larger picture. Visiting White Sands National Park in New Mexico on the 25th of February 2020 a quiet energy radiated from the white sand dunes, uniquely composed of gypsum, as far as the eye can see. Shifting light and wind moving the sand, the dunes were like drifts of snow. Signs of endurance emerge in this difficult environment, perhaps symbolic of this time and lessons of survival over geological time.
